Anyone have recommendations for non-SaaS/cloud software for accounting, specifically payroll and invoicing? Super big bonus if it is geared toward/has an extension for worker co-ops.

I don't know if this is a great solution, I just use it for my personal accounts. It is a classic locally running gui application

But I have seen documentation that says http://gnucash.org/ can be used for small business accounting.

The business section of the online docs lists:
