Both solar and wind power now produce more of the world's electricity than nuclear.
More importantly, they're the growth engines, ready to finally make a dent in the amounts of coal and gas used for electricity. And in the emissions arising from that!

@Sustainable2050 Would be great if we could actually make a dent in the coal and gas consumption, but it’s not happening yet, everything is just eaten up by more use of electricity.

Reality is, coal is a huge problem. And the worst part is that some people waste time attacking nuclear when the real problem is coal and gas. And the same people often praise China as a green example to follow, when in reality China is part of the huge coal problem:

@Sustainable2050 Das wäre schön, wenn nicht der Gesamtverbrauch fossiler Energieträger weiter wachsen würde.

Dieses "der Abteil erneuerbarer Energien steigt" ist die Antwort auf die falsche Frage und leider kein Grund zu feiern - wir rammen unseren Arsch einfach immer tiefer in die Scheisse, Kapitalismus sei dank.
