Happy Birthday to Us!

April 1st marked one year of DARC.

A lot has happened this past year. We’ve committed to the commons with OpenAleph, rolled out some major improvements and new features, collaborated on incredible projects, and most importantly, built a community that continues to challenge and inspire us.

And of course, none of this would be possible without our growing team.

Buckle up for year two. We’ve got a lot of work to do!

Actually, #DARC marked its 75. anniversary with a big celebration last year. Just saying.

@darcdataresearch

@dj3ei @darcdataresearch happy (belated) birthday to you! and as well to the Digital Aesthetics Research Center of the Aarhus university, the DARC of University of Rading and to the Data and Research Center of the National Institutes of Health ;)
About

I would have hoped that a new organization _about research_ would do research **before** choosing a name and an abbreviation.

Such research easily finds that DARC that has been active for 70+ years with currently some 33000 members and many international ties. I would have hoped the new folks would think twice before pirating a four-letter abbreviation that has been in consistent and wide-spread use for some 70+ years.

I would have hoped. Maybe I'm naive.
