Earlier, I was discussing projects that I never completed. One of those that I mentioned was a better look at movie theater listings in my area.

I got my city (ashland, oh) taken care of (they use an API for listing). I then checked the town next to me (wooster, oh) and found that someone else had done the heavy lifting.

Thanks, @Tender for the work you have done. Can I use it to send listings to me in newspaper format? Here's an example:

let's talk!

@sergio_101 hey neighbor!

I’m hooking into the graphQL API used by Wooster’s downtown theater which happens to be shared by a number of other indie theaters that use the same platform.

Not sure how you came across the project, but I wrote about it here: https://jacobtender.net/blog/tracking-local-showtimes/

If I were you, I’d jump straight to their API as mine isn’t exactly “live” in this current iteration. Would love to see more about how you use it!

Tracking Local Showtimes

One afternoon, at the end of a long and productive work week, I channeled what remaining energy I had left into building my own static site to display showtimes.

@Tender

a random search brought your story up, so i kinda followed the links around.

the ashland theater uses a different system, but i was able to suss it all out.

I'll take a look at the graphql api. I didn't see it after looking for three seconds.. but i'll look again.

kinda glad i looked, cuz wooster is playing the iron maiden movie.

are you going to record store day this saturday in wooster?

@sergio_101 I wasn’t planning on it until asked yesterday. Turns out there are a few releases I actually really want. 😅

I’ll likely be there.
