The issue I foresee with this is that now that I looked at the codebase KXC seems to have separate icons for the locked and unlocked state and I did not think about that earlier
@lunareclipse @doctormo @whitequark one could have the cup being gray and the other could have the green cup?
@solonovamax @doctormo @whitequark or the steam key shape could be replaced with a lock, maybe all the steam shapes to make it more distinct
@lunareclipse
another alternative could be to remove the steam when locked and only have the steam there when unlocked (and idk if icons can have animations, but if they can then it can be paired with a little short animation of the steam rising out of the cup when it gets unlocked)

Can you can bridge the two non-key steam columns into a padlock shackle?

Oh, at tea places they often put the cup upside down on the saucer to keep dust out... That is kinda a "locked" position... I mean, as far as tea goes at least
@lunareclipse (you forgot the mentions btw)

@lunareclipse I think maybe if the waves were a little more pronounced it would be nice?

also I'm unsure if there's too much detail or not on the cup itself (hard edge at the bottom as it transitions to the horizontal part, bumps on the handle)

and maybe the plate could be a little bit less wide?

@lunareclipse oh i like the concept
@lunareclipse are you on the irc?
@whitequark not yet but I can join
@lunareclipse that's probably a better way to discuss design (either in the room or in a DM)
