i heard this opinion: "chrome is what internet explorer was in the past."

although the point is that lazy developers test only chrome and forget other browsers.

maybe there are other points. now chrome is in the monopoly position, and we see how dominant position is misused both by alphabet inc and others. like, lack of privacy and data collection.
