2 Factor authenticator app question

I guess I have to look into using a 2FA app at last so...

I am probably late to the party on this, having resisted both Microsoft and Google's offerings up to now. I guess I'm just suspicious of these companies we used to love in the early days.

I've looked at the PCMag review and it seems that their top choice - 2FAS - might fit my requirements. I use both Android (mobile) and Microsoft (laptop, desktop) OS.

Has anyone any experience with this app? Any thoughts on it that might be helpful? Use on Windows and/or Android?

Or are there any better ideas?

Cheers!

The Best Authenticator Apps for 2023

Mobile authenticator apps make logging in to online accounts and websites more secure with multi-factor authentication. These are the top MFA apps we've tested.

@elliek Can't comment on 2FAS as I have been using Authy for most accounts for many years (and Authenticator for ID.me, as they do not support other apps.) No issues.
@bosquebill
Thanks Bill. Authy is mentioned in the review, specifically for Watch OS. (Is that Apple?) . They mention Stratum for Wear OS. I can't imagine why I would want it on my watch? But maybe there's a scenario I haven't come across yet.

@elliek Yes, watchOS is Apple. Love my Apple Watch, but apparently I have too old a version for Authy to be available for mine. I generally live on the trailing edge of tech.

Authy used to have a desktop app, but they discontinued it a year or so ago. Once or twice I've had to run to the other room to get my phone to authenticate a web site, would have been handy to just look at my watch.

@elliek I don't know that one but have been using Aegis for a long ish time and it's been fine if you want another option. I am no expert though!
@nigelharpur
Thanks, Nigel! It is in the review and up there near the top. Does it work with Windows?
@elliek ah, didn't think to check. Seems only for Android, sorry!
@nigelharpur
I do have Android, but only on the phone.
