Some personal news... after an amazing 3 years working with the Mastodon team, first in developer relations and then as communications lead - it’s time for me to move on (after April 28). It’s been a privilege to work on something as meaningful and important as the Fediverse. 🧵👇🏻 (1/4)
Looking back at the past few years, I’ve given 30-40 talks, interviews, and panels on the Fediverse; hosted the Social Web Devroom at FOSDEM (twice); written extensively about the open social web and the free internet; and contributed to discussions in standards bodies and EU agency meetings - helping shape how decentralised social technologies are understood and adopted. I’m grateful to have met so many people across the #Fediverse. I've always aimed to represent and support a community perspective when discussing our space. I also want to say that I am proud of the Mastodon team's thoughtful work and values, and I'm thankful for their friendship, especially through some tougher personal moments in the past ~10 months. What's next? From May, I'm looking for roles at the intersection of European digital policy, ethical open platforms, and developer/community engagement. I’m optimistic about these spaces, and keen to help shape what comes next. I care about a future that values human connection and shared power, not extractive platforms.

If you’re working in these areas - or know someone who is - I’d welcome a conversation. andypiper-at-omg.lol (yes, really) or check my website #GetFediHired /end (4/4)

@andypiper I'm expecting great things!
