hey am i missing something or does keepassxc just... not have CI that runs on each commit

edit: no, they use something called "TeamCity"

(yes we're forking it because of the ai thing, no it's not gonna be usable for a while)
keepasschi

KeePassChi: a fork of KeePassXC at release 2.7.10

@whitequark I just finished playing KH3 so the naming gag particularly amuses me
@zwol i've never played KH3, how does it relate?

@whitequark heh, sorry

Kingdom Hearts has a lot of symbolism related to keys and/or the letter X. there's magic weapons called keyblades, there's a whole group of people who changed their names by adding an X and then shuffling the letters around, etc.

and there's this mythical artifact called the χ-blade - pronounced "keyblade", but everyone in the setting can tell when someone's talking about the χ-blade instead of an ordinary keyblade.

so i thought "keypass χ" was a stealth KH reference

@zwol beautiful. no, i considered "keepassy" first but thought it doesn't sound catchy, so i picked the next thing that came to my mind. and i spent too long reading PL papers because it was "keepasschi". not very creative, I know!
@whitequark Thank god someone finally forked it.
@zyd that's me. i forked it >.>
@whitequark appreciate u
@zyd probably going to keep Flatpak as the only first-party Linux binary build, Windows is as before, and macOS if I get really bored or someone steps up to maintain it
@whitequark sounds good to me, i dont have much of an opinion on how i get my binary (i use both flatpak and appimages)

@whitequark KeepassXC was fun before ai. Their secret service replaces auto-type-placeholders in password fields. It's a cool feature, but without a way to disable and undocumented (could be surprising if your password happens to contain e.g. "{TOTP}").

Ability to return current TOTP from secret service api · Issue #7411 · keepassxreboot/keepassxc

Summary Having the keyring report the TOTP can be very useful for automated procedures in a shell. Thus being able to tell KeePassXC to report the TOTP-value for password would make a lot of sense....

@whitequark
What's the keepassxc AI thing? Are they adding AI features in a password manager? ... Why?
@mip no they're using the wrong machine to develop it, which is even worse
@whitequark Looking at their Github, the commits all have a tick next to them that seems to be coming from teamcity
@whitequark oh jetbrains ci system, haven’t seen that in a while
@whitequark teamcity is jetbrains' ci tool
@whitequark ngl i forgot about it until now
