This repo is not a bad place to see wtf is going on in the dev world right now lol 😵‍💫
Incidentally the multitude of posts regarding capacity restrictions etc feel like the beginning of a very slow rug pull
@sue Imagine making your career depend on some 3rd party service you have 0 control over. The whole premise is insane.
@Tijn @sue career, business, health system, public infrastructure, government…
@Tijn Yeah that's one of the things I find mind-blowing
@Tijn @sue People learned nothing when relying too much of (now) Meta, Google etc and saw business vanish because of it.
@svelmoe @sue I'm guessing at least part of the reason why is because at any given time 50% of developers have less than 5 years of experience, so by definition most people haven't experienced these things.
@Tijn @svelmoe @sue Using Google/AWS etc gives you something to stick on your CV. Avoiding it or making your own probably doesn't
@Tijn @sue imagine basing your entire business premise on a third party service you have zero control over.
@gundersen @sue It makes perfect sense if your business is grifting.
@sue I also have, on occasion, regressed to the point it cannot be trusted to perform complex engineering. Just sleep it off. What's the big deal.
@sue lol, scrolling and scrolling and laughing so hard
@airshipper I can't stop reading the issues in there 🥴
@sue wow. I just... Can't even...
