There are only three possibilities:
1. We have not been visited by space aliens
2. We have been visited, but have been deemed too stupid and dangerous for contact.
3. Aliens, upon seeing how stupid and dangerous the US government is, have initiated secret contact.
None of these possibilities elicits enthusiasm. The last one — the one hoped for — is chilling.
