Just curious if anyone thinks Trump will last the full 4 years.

@petergleick

I hope not. On the other hand, the guy who follows him will be worse.

I hope for a downfall of this whole government.

@petergleick
I have considerable doubts he will live his full term, or that he'll be mentally functional at all if he does. His health seems terrible, and he gets less coherent every day.
@JSteven @petergleick I feel the same. His health looks awful. He reminds me of my grandma. She doesn't say coherent things anymore.
@petergleick
In US?
with the state the democrats are in?
He will make a second term.
Cheers.
The pessimist who only gets positive surprises.

@mjsberna @petergleick

An illegal third term? He's already on his second, and he claims he was president when Biden won the election so in his mind this is already his 3rd.

@hittitezombie @petergleick
Ah, yes, sorry, you know, according to trumpsmathics it might as well be the 500%-ish.
@petergleick Nah, he's gonna blow a gasket after one of his toddler tantrums. I do hope he'll last until the midterms, though, because IMHO that's the best chance that the Republicans get whacked real good 🤞

@petergleick (Brit) I don't see Congress doing anything to remove him. His health may render him incapable i guess.

Thing is, he's not a huge aberation is he... Biden wasn't fit to hold office for 2 years of his term? Reagan wasn't either in his second term.

The guardrails and checks of your written constitution are in tatters, and have been for some time.

And on that cheery note...

@petergleick if necessary they will make a puppet out of him, like in "Weekend at Bernie's".
@prefec2 @petergleick I think they may have already done it

@prefec2 @petergleick

It worked for Republicans and Reagan, why not again?

@petergleick Is anyone in the "opposition" chomping at the bit to undo all the damage he's done?

No?

Then my answer to your question is "probably yes".

@petergleick

No, and I hope he'll croak before the midterms, so that Vance won't get to play for any longer than necessary.

He's already totally unfit for office, but those who could remove him never will.

@petergleick

That's the wrong question to ask. The question is — will a kleptocratic oligarchy posing as a democracy, a house divided against itself, built on the faulty foundation of Native blood, grown through the labor & sweat of African slaves, continue to maintain its hegemony, bullying the world with guns?

American frat boys maxed out their daddy's credit cards ordering Chinese and partying all night. Now the party is over, and the People want to get paid.

Why MAGA is a Futile Quest and Fighting Nazis is a Sham

@petergleick
I don't think so, but it is a "damned if he dies, damned if he doesn't" situation. I think it works in J.D. Vance's favor in 2028 if he's running for re-election as the incumbent president. But Trump surviving and us having to endure a full second term of him is also terrible.

@petergleick

No, I don't think he will last that long, but we will miss him when Vance the full-time-Fascist becomes the actual president, instead of the de facto one.

@petergleick Trump could "serve" his full term the way Wilson did.
Confined to his rooms, making no public appearances, but documents still come out of the White House with his signature on them.
@petergleick My guess is he will last another year. Once the mid-terms have shown the support for him is tanking, only then the GOP will start abandoning him.
@petergleick he either gets kicked out or his medical cocktail combined with fast food doesn’t help anymore
@petergleick - he has ensured he has all the money he needs to buy politicians’ and jurists’ acquiescence. Experience has already shown he can say the most unhinged statements and lead the country into conflict and they’ll pretzel themselves to justify it all. Even if he ended up in a vegetative state, they’ll spout nonsense, assuring the public he’d likely have said / done it.
And Vance is already the Trump Whisperer - consistently failing at everything he does.
@petergleick
... easier to answer after heartattacking midterms.
