people on Bluesky dunk on these right-wing accounts on X and i'm always like "who is this"

the right is such a boring constellation of nobodies now. like, just some guys out there posting. but Elon Musk owns X, and a ton of journalists are still on there, so we have to hear about them.

it's still amazing to me that EU countries continue to allow X to exist. it violates **so** many laws, all the time, and they're are just like hmmm. let's wait and see what happens.

@peter It is ONE EU country that allows it and it is deliberate as they are desperate for foreign direct investment and don't want to piss Musk off. That country is Ireland

@humanhorseshoes they operate commercially in the other countries and are subject to their regulatory frameworks, so i think it's more than just one. for example, i think Germany has pretty strict laws about Holocaust denial. and yet.

@peter Under EU rules they are headquartered in Ireland. Germany and Ireland are in the EU. Forum shopping is not allowed.

@peter You are correct re Germany having local laws and the Digital Services Act applies EU wide but the EU is slow and ineffective
