@TarkabarkaHolgy @szakib I'm in similar shoes, don't really feel like celebrating, even though yesterday accomplished not one, but two things I did not think would happen in my lifetime: Orbán is gone, and so is the old opposition. Both are worth celebrating, even if we don't trust Tisza at face value just yet.

And also: having watched a number of interviews with young voters, they kept echoing similar sentiments: they gave Tisza their 2/3, if the new government tries to fuck them over, they'll just as easily take it away. This isn't something I've seen in 20101.

That their own voters are ready to hold them accountable makes me cautiously optimistic.

Though, 2010 was a long time ago, and I paid far less attention to politics back then. ↩︎

@TarkabarkaHolgy @szakib I really hope they fix the fucked up election system and implement proportional representation for good. I hope that they know that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and be restrained with it after having reinstated rule of law and democratic institutions. I hope that they will slide leftwards as the extreme right is already served by more than enough parties. I hope they stay true to their promises. slightly optimistic!
