I think that it is unfortunate that the http://BitcoinHackers.org Mastodon server shut down.
I think Fediverse software such as @HolosSocial and others like do address many of their concerns.

@reiver @HolosSocial
I don't understand why they're calling mastodon a centralised protocol.
And this... doesn't make sense to me either.
"Mastodon is not decentralized, it's just someone else's computer."
The fediverse is decentralised and unless one runs the server, it would be on someone else's server. It's both.
Holos id interesting though.
honestly it's looking a bit like a win for the fediverse to not be attractive to bitcoin folks.

I assume they mean that a single Mastodon server is centralized because, for example, your identity is tied to an Internet domain, and the sysop/admin of the server with that Internet domain can take that identity away from you.
.
@reiver @HolosSocial I suspect so, but i find the lack of preciseness for an admin who manages a fediverse instance to be rather weird. It shows a lack of understanding of the protocol and who can use it.
It's like all they know of the fediverse is Mastodon when there are plenty of single user instance options like https://gotosocial.org/
