When I see stuff like this, I think of the people who are claiming that the only way to get rid of our current crop of authoritarians is going to be another global war. To them I say: Fuck you. Democracy works, we're going to win, and we don't need World War Three to do it.

@gnuconsulting @jeff as great as it is to see Orban out, I think we should learn a bit more about the replacement. The new leader used to be a member of Orban’s party not that long ago, and holds generally very similar views. Try BBC’s profile on the newly elected leader for example. This optimism should be very cautious indeed

@GeKalash @jeff I would be shocked if he was a bastion of left-wing liberalism or not problematic in his own way. But he’s gonna be better than the last fucking guy and they did it at the ballot box. My message was mainly directed at the doomers who I’ve seen say that America is too far gone and the literal only way that we can recover is with bullets and not votes. Fuck them in particular.
