The Conundrum of Democracy

We love democracy, but not asking how it works or who is it benefiting at the moment? We can change our view the world and how we relate to it.

Unorganized Thoughts

@humanoftheinternet ooohhh nice ! I agree for sure, though I'm not sure about the need for representative levels? Maybe federations can have recallable delegates? Perhaps in the style of DAANES where the number and demographics of delegates have to reflect the population they delegate from (ex. one man and one woman in the case of DAANES).

@kostyn I have been studying previous revolutions and actually existing socialism around the world, and every single model runs on single party direct democracy models. It's a shame that these things don't exist in a vacuum, because western intervention seems to always be the reason those systems can't hold over time. But alas, that's a different article lol

Are you familiar with the citizens’ assemblies set up in the German-speaking region of Belgium?

A panel of citizens selected at random gets to work over a number of weekends. Typically, the citizens are first briefed by experts or stakeholders, after which they discuss the matter amongst themselves, deliberate and draw up a set of recommendations.
