Hernandez asks Goh how her gym is going; she worries everyone is going to get settled in their postwar career like Subbaramaiah and Novak, except for her and Ma.
@ww3real As you have slowed updates down to about one a day, I'm wondering, is there a plan to end the story in the near-to-medium future?
@wanderoo @ww3real Yes, I'm wrapping after the Indian election and a bit, so around June.

@Alon @wanderoo @ww3real

It will have been some great years. I remember reading much of the backlog in a camping trip in 2023 :)

@sfsworms @Alon @wanderoo @ww3real that's not very far away! Thanks for this, it's been a fun few years. I'll continue with my Canadian municipal fan fiction in private.

Any other insane projects on the horizon?

@Truckasauruslex @sfsworms @wanderoo @ww3real Probably not, but we'll see.

I’ve been following this since 2021! It’s been great. Excellent work…may it all remain mere fiction.

@Bray_ray132 @Alon @sfsworms @wanderoo @ww3real if you're ever looking for a long form piece to write, the one big theme out of all this I'd be interested in is the idea that nuclear deterrence doesn't work, and a strong military non-nuclear deterrent, (1) is needed, particularly in the case of Europe, and (2) won't escalate to a nuclear exchange.

It sounds a lot like John Hackett's ideas out of the 1980s, which had their fans and detractors.

@Truckasauruslex @Bray_ray132 @sfsworms @wanderoo @ww3real I write about it on Bluesky from time to time. The issue is, all the eurocrats know this already, they're just too timid to move ahead with an EU armed force with common procurement and a common decision point on whether we're at war, even though whenever it's polled it proves popular across the EU. The eurofederalist groups pushing for it, inc. the EU parties, can't speak in a language that people outside the Brussels bubble understand.
@Alon @Bray_ray132 @sfsworms @wanderoo @ww3real , oh yeah, I've definitely seen you and others strong on the "arm Europe" point, but I'm still waiting for a convincing case on "this pre-WWI style arms buildup definitely won't lock everyone into a catastrophic conflict"
