Polls closed in Hungary at 7 p.m. local.

Record-high 77.8% turnout by 6:30 p.m.

"Two new pre-election day polls suggest significant opposition lead

Two polls conducted before the vote and released as the polling stations closed appeared to suggest a likely win for the opposition Tisza party.

BUT, these are not exit polls, but normal polls conducted before the election, and lots of caveats apply, so we should treat them with caution."

Long-serving prime minister beaten by opposition after early results showed clear lead

the Guardian

Hungary's opposition party Tisza off to a good start in the count.

"The state of play at the moment gives Tisza 110 seats, Fidesz-KDNP 71, and Mi Hazank 9 – with Tisza winning single-seat constituency votes, but Fidesz marginally ahead in the national party list votes - with just 6.56% of the votes counted"

There will be many ups and downs in the next few hours.

@AkaSci The Hungarian vote counting system is notoriously complicated. There are bumps ahead.

@tomminieminen @AkaSci

As I understand it, there are no exit polls in Hungary.

Doesn't update very often, but 14.72% votes counted right now.

Tisza leads. But, again, only a small portion of votes counted. Plus: Of course depends on what parts of the country the votes come from. Map detailing constituencies at bottom of the web page.
