Was reading a forum about #oldtimer #FordEscort whilst tech issues with my instance was being fixed.
Someone in *2007* posted a funny story about old lady at the petrol garage who recognised the posters car, having driven one herself in her younger days.
The story was only 160 words and 754 characters (same as toot on here).
The car owner followed it with an apology for the "long" post, and that folk would have got bored of it.
It is *this* TL;DR culture that over the years led to both #forums supposedly "dying" (to be fair that one seems stil active) and corporate bullshit like #Meta and now #AI taking over so many communities..
