One thing that I've noticed about my #SoloRPG #OSE sessions is they tend to end up unintentionally short. I play digitally, and I suspect what happens is I get distracted by something else on the computer.

So I'm thinking that maybe I should try playing with pen and paper only, just to try it?

But playing digitally is really convenient though, you end up with a digital, searchable record of everything... I need to think about this.

@enfors I can recommend a strictly analogue approach here, but if the searchability is important to you (and to be honest, your emacs plugin for this is really cool): what about jumping to a fullscreen environment for playing?

I have been known to occasionally jump to another terminal (without my desktop manager running at all) for text-based work when I *really* need to focus.

@zadammac Hmm, interesting. Yeah, going fullscreen would probably help - I typically have other things running that I keep an eye on too, which probably contributes to the problem.

@enfors

I feel you. At the moment I’m playing totally analogue and then read the notes to my computer that digitizes them. That works surprisingly well.

@SaltyMonk I see! So you dictate them, using speech-to-text on the computer?

@enfors

Yepp, it’s a simple workflow:
Microphone
=> Speech to text (Whisper)
=> Refinement (GPT-5)
=> Markdown
