My introvert 19yo daughter has been accepted for a student exchange program in #exeter university (Health & Life Sciences) in 26Q3 but has cold feet due to rumors it's a posh, partying and racist place.

Anyone know anyone who could comment on how #ExeterUni is like nowadays (as opposed to 2018 when there was a public racist issue in a student chat group)?

@futtta She's just appeared and I asked her. There is some posh partying and to a lesser extent racism, amongst small groups but there is general awareness of who these people are and it's easy to avoid them. I used the word prevalent and she said definitely not.
As an addition, Exeter is the nearest city to me and I go there for gigs and/or a night out several times a year and I've never encountered issues. I'd agree with Jules' description of the city from my experience.
