@Miro_Collas am aware that I’m missing the point here but why is a 21 hour negotiation a marathon? I would say a couple of weeks straight is a marathon but under 24hrs looks to me like a deliberate (and pretty soft) cop-out.

@MarkDW I suppose the implication is that no breaks were taken for sleep.

Nonetheless, it seems pretty evident that the US had no real interest in negotiating, so it didn't last long.

Added: it also makes more "compelling" reading ... ie, MSM click-bait.
