@trentmcnitt I saw your post on the devmke slack. 👋 I'm local to the north shore.
@joe Hey, Joe! This is my firstessage on mastadon I think. Any tips for getting to most out of this platform? It looks like you are pretty deep into it

@trentmcnitt The big difference between Mastodon and Threads or Twitter is that Mastodon doesn't have an algorithm. It means you need to follow a lot more people (I follow hundreds), and you are expected to boost content you find interesting.

@rasterweb once had a list of Milwaukee-based Fedizens. You can also follow #Milwaukee to find some local stuff.

Figure out people with similar interests and start going through who they follow. You should be able to find interesting folks here.

@joe @rasterweb sweet. Thanks for the run down. Any chance I'll run into you at any coding things around town? (Like agentcamp on Monday)
@trentmcnitt I probably won't be there on Monday. Your post on Slack was the first time I heard of Agentcamp, and I was just at @CypherCon two weeks ago. I'll definitely see you at things around town, though. I've been hoping that a hackathon and/or hack n' tell would pop up, this year if nothing else. (It's been too long)
@joe @CypherCon ok cool. I just followed that account. It'll be fun to be somewhere there's a lot going on
