Maybe they shouldn't be training AI with preprint servers and non-peer reviewed medical studies...

Scientists invented a fake disease, Bixonimania, and fed them to a preprint service with obvious tell tale signs to human readers they were not real. All the major AI purveyors, like Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, told people it was a real illness when they entered symptoms.

Making matters worse, other, real studies, assisted by AI, started using the fake studies as cites.

2/ Here is one example of "a human would know better..." The paper thanks the research of a crew member of the USS Enterprise and funding of the studies was by Sideshow Bob in conjunction with the University of Fellowship of the Ring and the Galactic Triad. https://oldfriends.live/@paul/116388256405548962
