I take a 3d model of the computer in blender, with an orthographic camera at 60 degrees (this gives the 1:2 pixel ratio typical of isometric pixel art, but isn't actually isometric in 3d space, technically...)
@rye then I render to a layer using Freestyle with sampling set to 1 for 0 antialiasing.
You can get a lot better result than this if you spend some time tweaking the settings, but since I'm going to paint over every pixel of the image it doesn't really matter as long as I have enough to define the contours of things
My Aseprite project looks like this, I divide the computers up between monitor and case, so i can maybe mix and match (it also helps me define a shadow beneath the monitor)
