Supergirl's moved around quite a bit over the decades, pre- and post-Crisis. Pre-Crisis, she lived in:
- Midvale (after landing on Earth)
- Stanhope (home of Stanhope College, Supergirl's usual alma mater)
- San Francisco
- Santa Augusta, FL (a fictional small city)
- NYC
- Chicago
Post-Crisis, versions of Supergirl IIRC lived in:
- Metropolis
- Leesburg (a fictional Virginia town)
- Smallville
- National City (brought over from the CW TV show)
@Sharksonaplane guess the creator didn't know there was a real Leesburg (or did but didn't care)?
The comic version came along in the 90s, but there were maps/atlases back then. 🙂
@Sharksonaplane this implies Peter David chose the name mostly to allude to her Silver Age alter-ego, so maybe just coincidence:
