Hat eigentlich heute im östlichen #Ruhrgebiet ein #RepairCafe geöffnet? Oder sieht jemand ein offensichtliches Problem mit diesem Handrührgerät? Wenn ich den Mixstab einsetze, rattert es beim Einschalten im Gerät und die Klinge dreht sich nur sehr langsam. Als würde etwas durchdrehen? #Fedihelp #diy

@ericalaeta Sorry I'm from the UK so I can't help with your local repair cafes, but I volunteer at OUR local one, and I HAVE tried to repair hand blends a couple of times. The part that sends to break is the gears, which are often made of plastic, and restless in symptoms similar to what you describe. They wear down because they are softer than the metal motor shaft gear. You would have to dismantle it further than that to tell for sure, but I have never been able to find a replacement gear box for sale.

@cybervegan Thank you! We seem to have narrowed it down to the blender attachement. The blade is had to move and the attachements to whip cream still work fine. Unfortunately the blender attachement can‘t be opened.

@ericalaeta Ah, by blender attachment do you mean another gadget that fits onto the blender? Agree it could be gears in that which have failed. You might be able to find a replacement for that. Fingers crossed!

@cybervegan Yes indeed! This one here. What do you call that? My dictionary doesn’t have a translation. It seems that the manufacturer doesn‘t sell that anymore and people who sell the used set don‘t have this gadget. I guess it breaks first. But it‘s already a few decades old, so no wonder.

@ericalaeta I guess we'd call it a stick or immersion blender attachment. I've only ever seen them sold with an attached motor, not as an attachable gadget. It's done pretty well if it's decades old, but it's sad that it's also not fixable.
