Listen, I'm a man. Obviously.
It's easy for me to believe women not because I believe all women tell the truth. I don't. I don't believe most people tell the truth.

But what I do know is that I have never once, in the entirety of my nearly 43 years on this Earth, been accused of sexual harrassment, rape, or any other sexual misconduct. And it's not because I'm celibate. I've been around. But you will never find a woman accusing me of any sexual misconduct or rape of any kind.

So when a man
is accused of sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape, I reflect on how absurdly easy it is to not be a sexual predator. It's so easy, I feel like one doesn't need to be taught that being raped, assaulted, harassed are not "enjoyable" situations for women.

I keep my fucking hands to myself. And, unless I'm provoked into a fight where somebody has hit me first, I always keep my hands to myself.

I value my autonomy. The day a motherfucker violates that is the day one of us is dying.
I believe women. Full stop.

If you're a man and you think it's unfair, I challenge you to think about the fact that you and I can walk around a neighborhood at night, take a hike, go to a store, be at the gym, be out with friends, and not worry one single time if we're going to be raped just going about our business (with caveats for race). If you haven't squared with the atrocious and deranged history of men in this world, you are the reason that we need to teach the simplest shit to boys.
For real. And I’m sorry but as a man, I’ve been privy to the “locker room talk” and the disgusting shit men say about women when they aren’t around. Not even counting when they ARE around

I believe women because enough men have given me reason to
Great point
My dude, you are speaking hard truths. This is something I’ve wanted to say for a long time. It’s not hard, just keep your hands off unless they ask for hands on. The fact that women have a blanket wariness about guys tells you how prevalent SA is. We need statements like yours to be the norm. We need intervention when other guys step out of line to be the norm as well. We need to end male silence and acquiescence over the actions of other guys.
Say something when you see it, do something if needed. This is a mess made by men and men need to clean it up.
