AI has two components: one is hype, and one is real. Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is hype, large language models (LLMs) are real. The owners of an LLM who sell it as AGI, or as a precursor to AGI, are engaging in sales fraud. They have a little theory, but it only works because they don't need to understand it in order to explain it to the gullible. It is market bubble making material, and here we are.
