May this sanity spread to all nations.

FWIW you can be absolutely sure there is no way the US public, gov and mil sectors would ever allow the use of non-US proprietary OS's.

We've all just normalised US tech dependency. Tireless pressure gangs of lobbyists on insane carbon miles have helped of course.

France to ditch Windows for Linux to reduce reliance on US tech | TechCrunch

France's move to ditch Windows for Linux is its latest effort to reduce its reliance on American tech giants.

@JulianOliver But they denounce GrapheneOS at the same time. Not very consistent in their quest to get rid of US software.
@truls46 Oh I didn't know that. Reasons? I really like and make heavy use of Graphene.

@JulianOliver @truls46 is right as you can see in the link below. Grapheneos is great BTW. Love it.

Authoritarians around the world have been heavily pushing the false narrative that end-to-end encryption and secure devices primarily benefit criminals. GrapheneOS has been a growing target of these attacks on open source privacy technology. France is the epicenter of this with their national law enforcement engaging in a smear campaign towards GrapheneOS with false claims about our features, distribution and marketing conflating it with non-GrapheneOS devices. Murena has actively participated.

@themadhatter @truls46 boo, sad to read. Hope they find sanity on this.
