Benelli, the Italian shotgun manufacturer owned by Beretta Holding (a $1.4 billion firm), is exploring 3D printing for gun chassis. Last year the company released a Lupo Alpha rifle with 3D printed components, and a new Limited Edition in .308 Winchester retailing at €10,000 sold 1,000 units. This marks a significant shift as major gun manufacturers traditionally lagged behind smaller firms in adopting additive manufacturing.
