HarrietMB is right. Anyone who has seen how Trump bedazzled every inch of Oval Office wall space will know that those niches are for statues and the panels for relief carvings. He is probably choosing scenes from his life to be added as soon as the architectural committee is looking the other way. I find the library lions to be a ludicrous touch - also the freestanding eagles..
