I wonder if this Delta Chat is any good and fun?
I always like to have one offbeat messenger running.
My previous favorite one was Session messenger. I like it, but it might shut down in 90 days barring a funding miracle.
Might try Delta after I see what's going on with Session. Delta looks easy enough.

Linux desktop client is beautiful, snaps right to the screen on startup, picked out the relay from the list myself, synced a mobile in minutes.

Delta chat is very good. We have an unofficial famichiki group chat / panik room for when the server goes down. It works great.
The underlying tech is decentralized too, though is transparent to the user if they don’t want to futz with it

@leanderlindahl It's amazing how fast and easy it was to get up to a usable speed with Delta Chat. I handle the tech in this household, so they are all required to help me test it.

Here's another one. I use Delta as replacement for iMessage since I switched from iPhone to /e/OS Fairphone. I managed to get my family to switch, which are the people I mainly message with.
