The EFF is quitting X

The Electronic Frontier Foundation will no longer be posting on X, formerly Twitter, due to a sharp decline in views and a lack of key changes on the platform.

@shawnhooper Pretty wild. I hope more will follow!

The Electronic Frontier Foundation #EFF will still be sharing content around digital privacy and free speech on its other social media channels, including on Mastodon @eff, Bluesky https://bsky.app/profile/eff.org , LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

The amazing thing being that they were still hanging around on X, despite the salute and everything ?

@leavex yes, and good for us and the others, that's a good example of a "tough" decision, implemented over less than a year, cleanly, documented, and which can serve further in the future for e.g. advocacy for syphoning still-functional X users out of Muskland until it's dead-dry 😁 - the good old starvation method

@HelloQuitteX @fr.escape-x.org @eff @phillycodehound @shawnhooper

ok, this was the reason, I guess:

Well; good thing they ditched X, eventually. Next step, shrink publications on the "other tech-bros" platforms, possibly redirecting to e.g. Mastodon, and actively promote migration to safer shores ?

(not saying it's easy, hey, but they are the EFF, after all !)
