As a history teacher I have to say that this video is also quite one-sided. The truth is just more complex.
Obviously Israeli governments have done bad shit. Which government has not? Still it is true that Israel has been under attack from the beginning. And it is also true that Israel has been a stable and liberal democracy for a long time in contrast to its autocratic neighbours. Antisemitism has been virulent since the beginning.

@WorldTravelerAll7 Thanks for the detailed answer. I think Bill Maher often has good points. Especially that there is not always one evil and one good side (except fascists who are always bad).
Shit is complex. My wife teaches religion as a subject at school while I am not a believer. I learned from her that nonbelievers can be way more intolerant than religious people. Not all religious people are extremists or fundamentalists.

my father was a baptist minister, a chaplain in Nam, & had the deepest faith of any human i've known. he was a great inspiration to me, and i wrote about it

but he was still wrong, & the world continues to pay the price of continuing this mythology. many people, of different faiths in different countries, see this as a holy war

it's not the "liberal" religious people who concern me; it's the conservative religious. conservatives period
