I don't know how people use Windows on their computers.

I spent a few hours with the company IT department to get the Windows desktop to do very basic things that would take far less than a minute on my Linux Desktop.

Apparently, the Windows taskbar NOT showing seconds was default. But there was no option in the time and date settings for me to enable that. I constantly do very time sensitive troubleshooting at the bench and need seconds counting at all times. IT finally got the option enabled so I could discern the few seconds between events for thermal race conditions on bad units. This saved the company several thousand dollars today.

Fucking Microsoft and their AI Copilot desktop.

@dianea I have a lot of respect for people who use Windows as their personal daily driver. Anyone with the patience to push through endless problems like that is a true hacker. Windows wasn't meant to be used like that, after all. I'm not a masochist, I can't deal with frequent driver issues and all its spyware/bloatware. I like #Linux & #BSD because they just work. So yeah, mad respect to the niche of Windows users out there.
@almonds @dianea 👍🤣😂
