@dgar No, but I do collect MP3s (and OGG Vorbis, AAC or M4A really, FLAC, and a few others.) This may not be seen as "retro" but the significant thing here is I have actual files on my hardware and if a site (or my connection) goes down, I still have those files and notice no disruption in my music (and same for reading and most of my gaming, though Steam represents a problem. I've taken steps.)
Most of what I really listen to isn't available on vinyl and I couldn't afford it even if it was. Also the record noise bothers my ears (part of it hits a frequency my ears are extra sensitive to or something.)
It does bother me that most people don't know its main advantage isn't being analog, but the fact it's immune to the Loudness War. That's the main thing people enjoy in the sound.
