This day in 1933 the German Reichtag had already passed the Enabling Act which gave Hitler personally the right to pass any law unhindered even by the constitution. It was already game over for any possible german opposition.

I don't think the US is quite there yet, is it?

They get ruled illegal *after the fact*, but by then the Overton window has shifted and the new normal is shifted to the right again.
