A couple middling bad things happened yesterday, and the world is a mess. But it's a beautiful day for a drive down the coast, and I know a little place with a cheap lunch, friendly staff, a million dollar view and I'm tipping well. Some balance achieved.

I shouldn't tell, but for you... :)
The Hill Buffet and Grill in north Newport. Basically a stand-alone version of the old Izzy's salad and pizza with better ingredients. You can see the beach all the way from there to beyond the Yaquina jetty. If you're lucky and sit in the right place, you can watch surfers right down the hill. Food's decent, and they're very affordable at lunch.

My kids used to love it there when it was an Izzy's. Is the pizza as good as it was?

Lol! I've NEVER eaten the pizza there. I didn't care for the Izzy's pizza much (I'm picky about pizza), and that just carried over. I'm a pizza, jojos, sides and salad guy. But it's likely as good or better. Mostly it all seems Izzy's recipes with more care and better ingredients.
