Pretty sure there's #spyware on my computer even though #NordVPN tells me there are no threats. #computers

Going to do a factory reset, but any other suggestions I haven't thought of?

Why I think there is at least remnants of spyware on my computer:
- My bank account was #hacked recently and it was apparently from MY computer
- My keyboard and mouse inputs have been very glitchy since the hacking including them just not working in some games

@trinityblair couldn't hurt to run Malwarebytes and see what it turns up. it's a bit obnoxious with trying to rope you into a subscription but it's a good scanner, the basic functionality is free, and you can just uninstall it afterwards. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thankyou (this link *does* go directly to the download, so your browser asking you if you want to save a file a couple seconds after opening it is expected.)
Thank you for downloading Malwarebytes for Windows | Malwarebytes

@AllieKoba scanning now and it FOUND 22 total with 2 confirmed malware. Yippie. One being clearly a screen recorder.

Quarantined them.

Would you say that now after a factory reset I'd be safe? πŸ˜…

@trinityblair agh I don't get timely push notifs from Mastodon and didn't think to check, so sorry for the delay in response. factory reset shouldn't be necessary. that'd be the last resort if nothing else works.
@AllieKoba I did it anyways because why the heck not, lol.
@trinityblair I mean true I guess πŸ˜† it's definitely the simplest and quickest option as well
@AllieKoba I also get the satisfaction of starting β€œfresh”.
