I love see people posting links to music to listen to here on the Fediverse. But way too often, probably over 90% of the time, that link is to a YouTube video, a place where the return to the artist for the stream is tiny to a point close to non-existent, and where our view goes to prop up a monopolistic unethical mega-corporation. that would be an amazing feature to have, but unlike text, or even a jpg, audio can take up multiple megabytes of server space, which no-charge-to-use instance providers might not be able to handle.
