I have often encountered those who try to sell me their own personal delusions of some mystical and cryptic knowledge about the nature of existence. They seldom seem any better off for being in posession of such "knowledge".

Since there is no way of proving one way or another what mechanisms are in motion behind the curtain at the limits of our perception, I guess you simply have to choose which illusion you prefer at the time and play your part until it starts to grate unbearably.
