I liked it better when deranged supervillains were confined to Marvel movies.

@aral is he… is he going to attack Greenland now. I’m so sick of this fucking guy.
@aud @aral I thought he was gonna turn to Cuba now
@aral how to cure a bully as a community
@aral he should go back to the insane asylum he loves so much.
@aral superheroes in movies often have a clearly defined goal. You'd have to think about Golden Age or Silver Age comic villains for an equivalent of what's happening.

Have to share with you this from a while back…

Attached: 1 image What’s your key cultural reference for this moment? It used to be Olivia Butler etc for me but right now it’s films with super villains. In particular, since I happened to see it before Xmas with children: Sonic 3. Robotnik. And his even more evil grandfather. That’s what I think of when reading about how Elon Musk and his aides have taken over government IT systems. https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-associate-bfs-federal-payment-system/ #Musk #Trump #Robotnik #Sonic3

@aral Why was the police not helping me when I was trying to rob someone at gunpoint? They're supposed to assist citizens, and I am a citizen!

NATO was there when the USA got attacked, in 2001.

@aral Seems selective memory is here again, didn’t the US invoke Article 5 after 9/11? It’s slightly ahem different if you’re doing the attacking rather than being attacked!
