@lisamelton Do you know anything about this jacket? I can’t find anything on the Internet.

@DarkAthena No, but I didn't start at Apple until 2001 and I never saw anyone walking around campus with one. Sorry.

@dgoldsmith might know something about it. Debbie?

@lisamelton @DarkAthena I don't recall ever seeing one of those, but if they belonged to the “game team" they were undoubtedly in a different building from me, possibly a different campus.
@dgoldsmith @lisamelton This jacket seems to be from an alternate universe or something. No one knows anything about them. It’s wild. Thank you both!
@DarkAthena @lisamelton It was quite common for groups to make small runs of tchotchkes for their team members, which wouldn't be widely known around the company. The number of people who've worked at the company at some point is enormous compared to the number of people who might know about one such tchotchke.
@JasonAnthonyGuy @Denisvengeance @dgoldsmith @DarkAthena @lisamelton Seems like you asked 3 years ago on Reddit and someone from the Game Sprockets team replied: https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageApple/comments/10vfuvl/macintosh_serious_game_hardware_apple_game_team/ . Game Sprockets was an attempt in 1996 for the Mac to be more competitive with Windows as a gaming platform. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Sprockets . As others have mentioned, teams (used to) have budget for swag like this. It would have been custom made for that team. Other teams, e.g. QuickTime, had their own jackets.
@_the_cloud @JasonAnthonyGuy @Denisvengeance @dgoldsmith @lisamelton Yeah! Still not much info out there though. Game Sprockets info is scarce and there’s no info about how much the jackets are worth or rarity or anything.
@DarkAthena @JasonAnthonyGuy @Denisvengeance @dgoldsmith @lisamelton What is the specific information you are trying to find out? It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. As the Reddit poster mentioned, it's "rare" in that only 20-25 were made. But was Game Sprockets a pivotal technology in the company's history? I recall that Chris De Salvo was the driving force on that team so if you can find him online, he would probably be able to tell you the story.
@_the_cloud @JasonAnthonyGuy @Denisvengeance @dgoldsmith @lisamelton Oh my gosh, that would be so cool!! Thank you!

@_the_cloud @JasonAnthonyGuy @Denisvengeance @dgoldsmith @lisamelton I’ve been trying for years to find out more about the jackets.
