Sordid Amok!I'm not a Christian, but I know enough of the Bible to know that I'm closer to the teachings of Jesus than most people who call themselves Christians. Really, all it takes is being a mostly decent person.

That seems to be a rather American problem what with the performative publicity of faith and the particular flavors of Christianity.
While we have some small fringe groups, the obnoxious people round here are more those who value the trappings of Christianity in the public space than actually identifying or acting religious.
