The kind of bullshit I do to myself when I have a better idea halfway through is exactly why I don’t track how long I spend per embroidery - instead I worked out a formula of the average time it takes me to fill a square inch with stitching and I work from that, adjusting for areas with sparser stitching or faster techniques. But if I were timing I wouldn’t feel free to follow my whims, like when I realized after putting a lot of time into this tree trunk that I should start over & pad it.
