how does one reduce the font size of notes in the Notes Panel?

it is simply stupidly large, impracticably large, & seems to have controls only to make it even bigger, not smaller

nothing relevant in about:config with keyword floorp
seems controlled only by about:preferences#general - Fonts, ie, merely the general system fonts setting
