Love of Lego inspired blind man to make the sets more accessible

Matthew Shifrin loved building Lego sets as a child. But since he's blind, he relied on others for help. That changed at 13 when a friend gave him braille instructions for a Lego set. That experience inspired him to create Bricks for the Blind in 2023, offering free, accessible instructions for blind builders. He now works with a team to provide instructions for over 540 sets. His efforts have inspired Lego to create audio and braille instructions. Many blind people, including adults, now enjoy building Lego sets independently, experiencing newfound freedom and connection.
