Bit by bit, wave by wave, moment by moment over time, the water brushed against the rocks, touched them, crashed against them, surrounded them, broke them down into smaller pieces that tumbled into the ocean.

It was relentless in its action. And though the rocks and cliffs were big and strong and seemed invincible, they eventually succumbed to persistence.
